Lydian Augmented (Melodic Minor Mode No.3)

Continuing with the series of blogs related to the Jazz Melodic Minor, this post will focus on Lydian Augmented.

As the name may suggest, this scale is simply a lydian scale with an added #5. This scale also happens to be the 3rd mode of the melodic minor scale.

What Is Lydian Augmented?

As mentioned earlier, the lydian augmented scale is simply a lydian scale but with an added #5, which also happens to be the 3rd mode of the melodic minor scale.

We can also call this scale lydian #5.
