In this blog we will learn how to play the diminished 7th shell chords with the root on the 6th, 5th, 4th and the 3rd strings in order.
What Are Diminished 7th Shell Chords?
Before we get into it, let's quickly recap on what the diminished 7th shell chord is to begin with.
Simply put, we build the chord by stacking the root, minor 3rd, diminished 5th, and the major 6th notes of a scale.
Incase you were not aware, a diminished 7th (a.k.a double flat 7) also happens to be the same as a major 6th interval (enharmonic).
Next, we omit the diminished 5th, leaving us with the root, minor 3rd, and the major 6th notes. This creates the diminished 7th shell chord.
Now that we have that out of the way, let's learn how to play them.
