3/4 Rhythmic Etude No. 1

After a productive January 2023, we will go into February 2023 with another important topic for musicians.

This month, we will focus on the 3/4 time signature, which is another common time signature every musician must have good grasp over.

All the etudes this month will target musical elements, and concepts covered in the previous 4/4 etudes.

How To Practice?

Follow these steps to make the most out of this etude:

  1. Perform this without your instrument, using a metronome at a comfortable speed. Either tap your foot/fingers, or clap to perform.

  2. Choose any note on your instrument, and play that note by incorporating these rhythms.

  3. Try to compose/improvise a solo by incorporating these rhythmic ideas.

  4. Create your own etude/piece of music by embelishing/re-arranging these.
